Kerri

April 6, 2014  |  Airstream Blog

I’ve been interacting with Kerri through the blog and Instagram for the past year and yesterday we ended up in the same location at the same time.

Kerri is a newly solo Airstreamer who has been on the road full time since 2011. She’s awesome and I’m really glad our routes overlapped. I always wonder if I would and could do this lifestyle on my own, so it was really cool to hang out with her.

Dinner Last Night:
Sushi Napolean. This was way easier than trying to make perfect little sushi rolls. Next time I’ll probably combine the cucumber and avocado layer so it isn’t so tall.

2014 Cost of Camping:
**$180 for 6 nights through Friday 4/11**
16 night paid camping
84 nights free camping
100 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $485
Daily average cost of camping: $4.85

  1. How many drinks did you have for happy hour? ;)

  2. Not sure I could do this alone. I admire people who are willing to go for it!! Good for Keri!

  3. Fun to think that your virtual friend turned into a in-real-life friend. Go Kerri!!!

    • Hi Erin! Ya, it’s crazy how social life on the road is compared to when we first started in 2005. And yes, it’s cool getting to know Kerri, she’s really inspiring.

  4. I look forward to seeing both you guys and Kerri on the road one day! I hope you will talk to me even though I am not in an Airstream. :)

    • Hey Marshall – you know I’ll talk to you! I was the first to wish you happy birthday on Instagram the other day. :)

      • You were the first! Just making sure that you will actually talk to me in person. LOL!

Looking at your 2014 itinerary it appears we both plan on being in FL for the winter, so we should meet then. Otherwise I will be trekking east until then.

  5. ” I always wonder if I would and could do this lifestyle on my own”… Hmmm…should Brian be nervous…??

    • I was wondering if someone would notice that!!

I have a mild fear of things being too good to be true, and that’s just me worrying about suddenly being on my own. :(

  6. I always admire those, particularly women, who embark on this lifestyle alone. I’m not certain I would be brave enough to do it. Love your Sushi Napoleon. :)

  7. thanks for introducing Kerri….I really admire her…and I love your honesty, Leigh
