This week we’re camping next to Dan and Marlene and their 3 kids Ava, Mila and Luka, so I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A.
Aluminarium: Your blog says you’re in Washington right now…
Dan: We just drove down yesterday, like really quickly to meet you guys.
Aluminarium: From Washington? Wow.
Dan: Yeah. It was a lot of gas. Very expensive.
Aluminarium: Ok, so is your blog current?
Dan: Current, as in we’re currently writing it.
Marlene: Yeah. (laughing)
Aluminarium: Ok, I don’t mean to give you a hard time, for all your blog fans, I’m trying to do the big reveal that you’re actually -
Dan: It’s way behind.
Aluminarium: I understand, you have three children. How’s that going with the 3 kids in the 25 foot Airstream?
Marlene: It’s working for now. It would be nice to have a little more room with bunk beds. We’re making it work.
Dan: It’ll work until he (motioning towards Luka) gets much bigger. If he gets to be 40 or 50 pounds, then it’ll be a problem. We might have to do some remodeling I think.
Aluminarium: Do you think you’d really do bunk beds?
Dan: Yeah, we would remodel before we go bigger.
Aluminarium: That would be cool.
I noticed on Facebook that Marlene is a big Eddie Vedder Fan, so I had to bring it up.
Aluminarium: Dan, how do you feel about Eddie Vedder?
Dan: Oh, he’s a dreamboat. I love him.
Aluminarium: Do you ever worry about him?
Dan: No, you know how people have these celebrity lists?
Aluminarium: We all know about Marlene. Who is your Eddie Vedder?
Dan: I don’t know, Weird Al?
Obviously things had gone down hill fast, so in an attempt to save the interview I asked the kids what there favorite thing was about living in the Airstream.
Mila: Watching the iPad.
Ava: Going to other places.
2014 Cost of Camping:
I’ve missed seeing the cost of camping at the bottom of each blog post. They seem incomplete without it. So why not bring it back? Especially while our current average this year is so awesome:
0 nights paid camping
15 nights free camping
15 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $0
Daily average cost of camping: $0
