Seth, Drea & Emma

April 1, 2014  |  Airstream Blog

Three weeks ago I saw a Airstream photo on Instagram, with a caption that suggested the people behind it would be fun to hang out with so I asked where they were headed.

After some back and forth we discovered our paths would converge on the Pacific Coast, so this past weekend we met up with Seth, Drea and their Dog Emma.

The trio have been on the road full-time for just 5 weeks and are headed up to Alaska for the summer. Seth is a photographer and Drea is a writer. They also have a Tumblr blog for their Airstream adventure.

When we parted ways, Emma gave Brian a facial. Hopefully we’ll catch up with them again somewhere along the coast.

Dinner Last Night:
One Pot Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca with Chickpeas & Artichoke. This is a good one to keep on board because it doesn’t have any perishable ingredients. The other interesting thing about this recipe is that the pasta cooks in broth and you serve it without draining (good for boondocking). Brian wanted thirds, but only had seconds.

2014 Cost of Camping:
**Through Saturday 4/5**
10 night paid camping
84 nights free camping
94 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $305
Daily average cost of camping: $3.24

  1. Awesome. We were parked next to them at the JT dry lake bed and didn’t realize it until we left :)

    • You parked next to another Airstream and didn’t say hi? Or you just didn’t realize it was the same people from Instagram?

      • It was the dry lake bed so we respectfully gave them some distance. They were gone most of the day and then we left when the winds got crazy. just didn’t have an opportunity. We found out the next day via instagram that it was them :)

  2. We were never out at the same time. And then crazy winds chased us out of there before be could say hello. Maybe we’ll see them in Alaska?

  3. Anybody who is liked by a boxer must be a good person ;) That pasta dish sounds pretty good!

  4. Ah yes, Emma would lick the pigment off of your face if you let her. Let’s just say she’s an affectionate one. Thanks Leigh for getting in touch with us. We’re so glad that we all had the chance to connect while in Ventura!
