Hand Feeding Dogs

February 21, 2012  |  animals  |  Share

We’ve been dog-sitting Maddie at Brian’s Mom’s house the last two nights. Miss Maddie has been refusing to eat from her bowl but will eat her kibble one piece at a time if hand fed.

  1. So cute. You’re the kind of dog sitter I would want for Jack. Their world is turned upside down when their human’s are gone.

Funny thing about dogs. My Lizzie would eat anything that didn’t eat her first. To slow her down I used to spread her food over a big cookie sheet or she’d gobble it in two bites.

Jack, on the other hand, (all 92 pounds of him) eats every daintily–takes a few pieces of his kibble, steps back, chews, swallows, and thinks for a moment before going back. I think if he had a cup of tea, he’d manage to put his pinky out. LOL

I don’t know Maddie’s human, but she’s very fortunate to have such a kind person to watch her pup.

  2. so glad Maddie was adopted by Brian’s Mom…what a lucky dog to be in the family….and obviously Maddie has really attached to her…thank you, from Maddie, for being so understanding of her separation anxiety….you guys are so good…xoxo
