An Owl and Curtie

February 9, 2014  |  blog

As we were wrapping up Curtie’s photo shoot we were telling Albert about the owls at Snyder Hill. He looked up and said something like “oh, like that one up there?”

Ok, ok I’ll share more Curtie photos. I’ve posted another to our facebook page this morning.

Dinner Last Night:
Portobello Mushroom Burgers and (really good) homemade fries. The trick to the fries is boiling them for 2 minutes before baking – so good.

I was talking to someone who thought it would be interesting if I shared my entire menu for the week in advance. I always name the menu for where we’re camping, and then sometimes if we return to a spot, I’ll revist an old menu. The menu order is subject to change, but if you want to follow along at home here it is: Tombstone Slabs Menu

2014 Cost of Camping:
0 nights paid camping
38 nights free camping
38 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $0
Daily average cost of camping: $0

I am so glad that you are putting your meal plan out there for us. Thanks so much. The Apple Cake sounds so yummy:)

    • I’m glad you commented on it, because if no one cared I probably wouldn’t do it again – but if you’re really interested I’ll totally share!

The apple cake is awesome, it’s the 3rd time I’ve made it, though this time I skipped the caramel.

  5. I am in awe of your organizational skills. Love the pictures of the owl and Curtie.
    OK, off to buy potatoes…
