Kelly & Mike

February 26, 2014  |  blog

We met this pair of reserved Airstreamers at Usery Mountain Park on Saturday. Monday they joined us at Buckeye and we’re glad they did because as you can see, they’ve been very entertaining.

Kelly and Mike are in a 21 foot 1971 Airstream Overlander. They’re full-time on the road for a year so be sure check out their blog Follow the Tumbleweed.

Dinner Last Night:
Since I’ve had no menu planned this week, and just a bunch of ingredients with no real purpose, last night I made “Buddha Bowls” which is basically veggies, grains and beans or lentils in a bowl with some sort of sauce/dressing. We had quinoa, black lentils, avocado, spinach, cabbage and carrots with this Tahini dressing.

2014 Cost of Camping:
0 nights paid camping
55 nights free camping
55 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $17
Daily average cost of camping: $0.31

  1. Please tell me you both adopted a “When in Rome” approach to this visit…

    The blackout bars are brilliant.

  2. A 1971 Airstream that’s 21′ would be a Globetrotter… the Overlander was 27′ long. I guess since they don’t need much room to store clothes, the Globetrotter is big enough for them. ;)

  3. I wonder, if this photo would make the popular page on IG?!

  4. Well, they are wearing shoes and hats. You wouldn’t do this in Ontario in the summer – the black flies and mosquitos would eat you alive.

  5. Weeeelll why didn’ ya say so:)

  6. Well, I never! Okay, once in college. Bravo to them for posing so openly. It makes me want another sweater.
