Kelso Dunes

Yesterday after work we went to check out the nearby Kelso Dunes. When we arrived, we realized that we left Curtie’s collar at home so we couldn’t leash him up. There was one other car in the parking lot and we could see the person in the distance heading back toward us.

Brian told me to go ahead since we were losing light, and he and C would join me off leash after the other hiker returned to his car.

I trudged through the sand for about 20 minutes and turned around before reaching the dunes because in 20 minutes it would be dark.

In the photo above, I could see Brian in the distance without Curtis who decided he didn’t want to get out of the truck!

Dinner Last Night:
Last week our friend Kelly sent me a recipe for Curried Cauliflower Soup, so I figured I should give it a try. It was really good, though I could have blended it a bit more. Served with a kale salad.

I can’t blame Curtis for not wanting to walk in that sand! We climbed to the top last year and I nearly died. Hiking on dunes is much harder than it looks!
