Kerri & Kiona

We had plans to gather with some fellow Airstreamers this coming weekend on our property. Well, the party is a bust and now we’re hanging out at an RV Park in wine country. Things could be worse.

Kerri, who was also on her way to our place, decided to join us for the week.

When we lived in Washington full-time, Kiona was one of our regular house wines, so yesterday we checked out the winery which is only a couple miles from where we’re staying.

The tasting room was busy, but we found a table off to the side. Tastings are free if you buy a bottle, and we didn’t have any trouble finding something we liked. As you can see from the photo above, Kerri has her hands full with the Rosé of Sangiovese and Reserve Sangiovese and the Estate Lemberger.

Sorry your get-together plans have been squashed (those wildfires are scary), but the wine is a pleasant alternative.

Making the best of your changed plans. Doesn’t look like too much suffering going on there:)

Kiona is a great brand. I worked for a winemaking consulting firm in Sonoma called Enologix and they were one of our clients. Also, look for any red wine made in the Horse Heavan Hills appellation. Many wineries in that region will buy grapes from HHH. Some of the best Walla Walla winery wines are actually made from grapes sourced from Horse Heaven Hills. Cole Solare Winery on the hill right above Kiona also has a pretty impressive line-up.

Thanks JohnV! We love Horse Heaven Hills wines! Thanks for the tip about Cole Solare, we’ll have to check it out since we’re here for 3 more weeks.
