We spent the weekend in Merlin, Oregon with family. Some I knew, some I hadn’t seen in years and some I met for the first time. I wish Hansie the dog was more cooperative in this photo.
We stayed about 5 miles down the road from the rental house at Indian Mary County Park which is apparently the “The centerpiece of the Josephine County Park System.” Well, Memorial weekend is NOT the time to go. The spots are about 5 feet apart from each other, and the campground was jam packed full of families. We were glad that we weren’t spending any time there, just sleeping. $52 for two nights of full hookups and no cell service. Sorry no pictures.
I had fun watching Brian play volleyball, since I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play. I considered joining, but figured knowing me, I’d probably break a finger, so I just watched.
We missed out on some hikes and rafting while we were off doing chores. Overall, we had a great time, there was a lot of singing, dancing and socializing.
Last night we moved down to Emigrant Lake, which is exactly what paid camping should be like. It’s beautiful and the spots are nicely spaced. $30/night.
