Old Faithful

September 10, 2013  |  blog

On Sunday morning I woke up at 5AM to make breakfast and to pack lunch and snacks for the day. We left the trailer at 5:40 and headed over to Old Faithful for sunrise.

We met up with John and Laura, but unfortunately John was sick so they cut out before lunch. (He’s not throwing up in this photo, just testing the water).

After one of our stops we saw this crow eating a bicycle seat. We were able to get really close to him and he never flew away.

Dinner Plans:
Roasted Vegetable Salad with Dill Dressing. This was delicious. Next time I’d use 1 clove of fresh garlic instead of the powdered in the dressing, otherwise it was perfect.

2013 Cost of Camping:
86 nights paid camping
167 nights free camping
253 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $2,322.22
Daily average cost of camping: $9.18

  1. That’s a spectacular photograph of Old Faithful.

  2. Oh wow that’s early. We probably would not have joined you for that adventure :) Although the photo of OF at sunrise is pretty cool!

  3. Wow!! I might have actually gotten up to see that. I never see the sun rise. Great photo:)
