After reading the recent posts by Wheeling It about their adventures with border dentistry in Los Algodones, we (sans Leigh) went over yesterday to check out the small town of pharmacies, optometrists and dental offices. The gang bought jewelry, prescription drugs, eyeglasses and booze. I didn’t get anything, but I found out later from Leigh I should have bought a jug of vanilla extract and goat milk lollipops. Hopefully Tim and Amanda will be able retrieve these today when they go back to pick up their glasses.
Dinner Last Night:
Egyptian Koshary. Leigh found this recipe for Koshary (a popular vegetarian dish that is served by street vendors all over Egypt) knowing that I love it and that I ate this almost everyday when I lived in Cairo. I thought the recipe was really good and authentic to how I remember koshary tasting. My wife is a great cook – I’m so lucky! Thanks for making this for me.
