Candlestick Rip Off Park
We were prepared for Candlestick RV Park to be an expensive parking lot. Their website says: * Total vehicles length under 30', 2 people $74 * Total vehicles length over 30', 2 people $79 I was expecting it to be $74/night, I guess that language includes the tow vehicle. A little misleading, but fine. What was NOT fine with me, was when we checked in and the guy behind the counter says that it is $474 for 6 nights if I pay with cash or Travelers Checks. If I want to use my debit card it will be $525 and they don't take checks. He doesn't seem to care when I tell him they should have said something to me on the phone when I made my reservation. So I ask if there is an ATM nearby. He says there's one outside. I asked how much is the fee? He said he didn't know, the park doesn't own it. Well, the fee is $6. I supposed we could have left and towed the trailer around the ghetto looking for a Bank of America, but we didn't. I unhappily paid the $6 fee at their ATM vs. $51 dollar fee at the counter. We are here for 3 nights instead of 6 and will be moving on Wednesday. We weren't expecting it to be nice, but we also weren't expecting to be ripped off.
