Our stop at Glacier National Park in Canada was the only one where we didn’t have reservations. We were a little worried about having such a large group and finding spots for everyone, but everything worked out fine and we were all able to stay together at the Illecillewaet Campground.
After we settled in, the group went on a short hike before dinner. We went to “The Meeting of the Waters” where I had to take a photo of Tiffani and Deke (Waters). Jack enjoyed jumping in puddles and Marlene impressed us with her strength hauling big baby Luka around.
Apparently there were bears in the area, but nobody ran into any. Both nights we had a campfire at our site where the guys had fun playing with fire.
Our second day at Glacier, we went on a hike with the Watsons and John & Laura. I’ll need to find out from Amanda which one it was since we changed our minds so many times before leaving. It started out nice and easy, then we endured an uphill climb to reach the summit where we had a picnic lunch.
Out of the three places we camped in Canada, Illecillewaet was my favorite. The spots were really tight, but it was a beautiful forest setting with a roaring river providing great ambient noise.
