Back at Lake Mead

March 4, 2014  |  Nevada

It was a little cloudy this morning when we took our walk, so the photo today looks a little gloomy.

We’re back at Lake Mead, but this time in a slightly different spot.

I haven’t been cooking much since we’ve been here, which has been a nice break. Last night we went out for sushi.

  1. Beautiful muted colors on the mountains and sky – violets, grays, blues.

  2. That is just about the most perfect campsite ever. I would LOVE to stay there !!! Can you fish in that lake?

    • Yes you can fish here, which is actually why we moved our spot. The location we had camped in twice before was right by the peninsula where people would fish, so we would hear a few cars drive by at 5am for sunrise fishing. This spot is a little off the path and much quieter.

  3. Nice spot. I couldn’t believe that amazing camping was so close to Vegas. Did you hear all the coyotes?

    • Hi Gail! There are a ton of coyotes here! Yes, we do hear them at night and as the sun rises. This week we’ve seen 2 packs of them pretty close to the trailer, fortunately, they run away when we make any kind of movement.

  4. You might have already done a post about this but I was wondering how you guys manage showers and emptying your tanks? I love that you guys camp for free so much and would love to do that one day!
