2017 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

We haven’t been to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta since 2006, when we camped out right next to where the balloons take off every morning for a week.

This time around, we scored primo moochdocking at our friends Brenda & Hector’s home in a wonderful suburb of ABQ called Corrales, which many mornings was right in the path of the balloons.

Last Saturday, we woke up really early and went down to the Balloon Fiesta Park to watch the dawn patrol and the first mass ascension.

Pictured above are Brenda, Hector and two random children that don’t belong to them.

Thursday night we returned to the Balloon Fiesta to check out the “Glow” and a really great fireworks show. This past week was one of my favorites in a long time, a huge thank you to our dear friends and fantastic hosts.
