6 Year Anniversary

This year we’re spending our wedding anniversary at Emigrant Lake in Ashland Oregon.

I booked the coveted site #21 in August of last year, knowing that we’d be back in the area for a family reunion over Memorial Weekend. Site #21 has the biggest “front yard” and a fantastic view of the lake. The site is so big, Brian had to go out and buy a longer fresh water hose.

The traditional gift for a 6 year Wedding Anniversary is iron. Not sure what that would translate into. A cast iron skillet or a wrought iron fence? Iron vitamins? Any ideas?

2014 Cost of Camping:
$248 for the week thru Monday 5/26
53 night paid camping
92 nights free camping
145 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $1610
Daily average cost of camping: $11.10

    Happy Anniversary, you handsome couple!
    Beautiful setting, too.
As for ‘iron,’ when’s the Aluminum anniversary year?

Aluminum is the 10th, and btw candy is also a gift for the 6th anniversary. Enjoy!

Thanks you guys! Yes, I saw that candy is the modern 6 year gift. We do have a dark chocolate Justin’s Peanut Butter Cup on board. My favorite.

When I first saw the comment, I would have sworn it was from Jim. You’re hilarious – that’s so disgusting!!!

You guys simply aren’t leading a cutting edge lifestyle. Now take this guy, he is married, engaged and dating. See you can have it all.

This is the idea I am giving you for your anniversary.

    Congratulations on the anniversary!

Your site brings back fond memories. We found Emigrant by accident at the end of a two week venture in or brand new fifth wheel in 2003. We liked it so much we extended our trip a few days-which is one of the things I love about RV travel. You can be so much more flexible.

For my wife and I’s 6 year anniversary, we were strapped for cash, and 6 years is iron/candy, so I got her a cupcake with the periodic table element for iron on top. She appreciated it since she is also a science teacher!

      Cute idea! Super thoughtful.

Happy Anniversary and what a beautiful place to spend it! As for the gifting, cast-iron skillets are always a good bet but dark chocolate will most likely always win the day. 🙂
