Valley of the Rogue State Park

This week we’ve been camping at Valley of the Rogue State Park, just north of Medford Oregon. We’ve stayed here before so we knew we would like it.

Camping is $24/night, we have water and power, no sewer – though some sites do have sewer. The AT&T mifi is terrible here so we finally got our Verizon mifi (we knew we were going to have to, it was just a matter of time). At night there are little gnat type things that manage to get through the screens so we have to close the windows and vacuum the walls. Our spot this time is closer to the freeway so there’s some noise there, but it doesn’t bother us.

Overall we’re happy here because there is a lot of space between spots, there are lots of trees and a nice hiking trail along the Rogue River.

  1. I think Valley of the Rogue is the nicest “just off the highway” state park we’ve ever visited. It must be the big sites and verdant setting.

Are you going to publish a trip plan, or is there even one at all?
