Emperor Curtis

April 24, 2014  |  curtis

I haven’t bought Curtis a squeaky toy since he was a baby. He used to destroy them within minutes, and since he’s not interested in kongs or nylabones, his only real toys are tennis balls.

A couple months ago, C stole Moose’s squeaky toy and held on to it for quite awhile before he finally lost it. This past Sunday he tried to steal Lilly’s squeaky toy but she wasn’t having any of it.

Obviously our boy needed a squeaky toy, so recently Brian went into a pet store looking for one, but came out empty handed. Well fortunately for Curtie, dear Rudy and Tom have excellent timing and got the old guy a Darth Vader squeaky.

Yesterday, it took the Emperor about 6 hours to kill Vader.

Prior to this year, Curtie’s last squeaky experience was in 2008 (when we lived in a house). Watch the video.

Dinner Last Night:
I used to love my Mom’s lentil soup and I’ve been craving it all week (minus the meat). So last night I tried Ina Garten’s Lentil Vegetable Soup and it was fantastic.

  1. Poor Curtis! Glad someone brought him a toy:) He tried really hard with that guitar but it still looked good at the end. I guess Curtis doesn’t understand the idea of how to play with a toy…haha!

That soup sounds wonderful. I just made a huge shopping trip to the best Whole Foods ever in Atlanta before we left the area. I bought lentils of every color and I finally got wheat berries!! It was such an exciting trip. Now I will have to make the soup…yum!

    • I was a little unsure during the onion/leek phase and also with the tablespoon of salt – but not to worry, the measurements are perfect. :)

  2. He looks so happy!
    xxoo

  3. Santa Barbara Mary & David

Good for Curtis. Mary said it took 6 movies to do the same thing! BTW, we’re at Wine Country RV this weekend– our 1st trip of the new year! Saturday I bike (trike) the Wildflower Century ride in Creston.

  4. precious photo….
