Our Best Buddy

Curtis was so cute while we were camping in the Mojave. He’s free to roam around, but he always stays close. I had the front door to the Airstream open and he just stands there waiting for us to join him. Then on Sunday while we’re packing up the trailer, he’s free to play, but just wants to sit in his crate in the truck acting like he doesn’t want to be left behind.

In retrospect, maybe he wasn’t feeling well. Sunday night he had diarrhea and it continued yesterday plus he vomited his breakfast mid-day. So we haven’t fed him since breakfast and today we’re going to try chicken and rice.

I had our vet in Washington fax his records to his old vet here, so if this persists we’re going in.

  1. I hope Curtis is feeling better. Funny how they like to be near the ones they love.

Jack got sick a couple of times on our trip–the northwest is the place that you have to be very careful because of Salmon Fever. They get sick fast and need to see a vet ASAP. Give Curtis (love the name) a pat for me–I hope he’s running around happy as a clam when you read this.

    • Thank you! Well, he’s wagging his tail this morning, though last night wasn’t too good. I’m making him white rice as I type and Brian is going out to pick up C’s favorite – eggs. Next step a stool sample so we can get that tested for parasites.

  2. Kisses to Curtie. So glad to hear his tail is wagging today.

  3. Feel better soon Curtis. Poor baby.

  4. He’s such a good boy. Hope Curtis is better soon so you can all feel better.

  5. Hannah always wants to load into the Jeep while we pack up….she wants to make sure she is going….glad you are so on top of it for The Curtis…let us know what they think it is….such a good boy….sending kisses, pats and prayers….xoxo

  6. Whenever one of mine had diarrhea and vomiting, I ask the vet to put subcutaneous fluid in their backs to keep them from dehydrating. I’m sure you know this, but check his gums to make sure they are not tacky. Keep us posted. Another pat to Curtis.

  7. Hope he’s feeling better. I can’t believe how much he looks like Abbey in the picture in his crate. I’ve seen that face before!
