Salida Hiking

October 8, 2013  |  curtis

On Sunday we took a short hike with Curtis. At his age (13 2/3) he doesn’t have the energy for really long walks, so we took Lost Trail and cut over Dead Bird trail then hopped off of that onto a BLM road that took us back to the truck.

I’m thinking of getting a fitbit, so in the future I’ll be able to report back how far our hike was.

Dinner Last Night:
Chanterelle & Brown Lentil Soup. They didn’t have chantarelle’s at the Denver Whole Foods so I used shitakes and baby portabellos. We had it with a simple salad and left-over delicious hemp dressing.

2013 Cost of Camping:
103 nights paid camping
178 nights free camping
281 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $2,860.12
Daily average cost of camping: $10.18

  1. Oooh, I also covet a FitBit – they’re launching a new wristband model with an altimeter “soon”, whenever that is :)

  2. 13 2/3??? he may have had an estimated age when you adopted him? he looks great regardless of age!!!!
