We saw this little guy the other day outside of our Airstream.
Completely unrelated:
Last night we were talking about going out for ice cream or frozen yogurt, but the parking is so tight here that moving the truck didn’t sound appealing. So I racked my brain…what sweetness could we have for dessert? Then I remembered that I had apples.
Back when we lived on Lummi Island, our old neighbor Allison used to laugh at us whenever she over-heard me telling Brian that we had apples in the house for dessert (which actually occurred more than once). I guess apples don’t really count as dessert for everyone, but there are ways to make them more dessert-like.
I may have picked this up from a recipe somewhere, but I don’t remember.
Naughty Apple Dessert
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 apple
- 1/2 pat of butter cut into tiny bits
- 1-2 t brown sugar
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1/4 C walnuts
Pre-heat oven to 375. Peal your apple and cut into cubes. Toss in pie pan with remaining ingredients. Bake for about 15-20 minutes. I didn’t time it so I’m guessing.
Serves 2.
