Airstream Lighting Upgrade

This weekend we joined our friends The Watsons in Borrego Springs who recently updated their lighting with some warm LEDs. We’d been wanting to do the same since our Airstream came with some very cold and unattractive lights.

We ordered 2 rolls of 16ft Flexible LED Ribbon and 3 AmerLight PWM 12Volt 2Amp Inline Dimmers so we could have strips over the front, back and kitchen cabinets.

Tim was kind enough to install the lights for us yesterday and we’re really happy with the result (though it’s kind of hard to capture in a photo).

Please, more detail on the installation. Would like to do this to my coach by myself. Thanks.

It was all pretty simple. You can see the speaker hanging in the first picture. This gave us access to power and a spot to route the wiring. I tapped into the 12v from the light. The cabinet had enough room to squeeze wiring between it and the trailer skin.

After seeing this post, i bought them on Amazon, but when I connect the dimmer to the plug end of the strip and connect the red/black wires to 12V, they light up but wont dim…
Any advise on what Im doing wrong?

Hi Albert, Tim from WatsonsWander did the install for us. I don’t think he did anything special to get the dinners to work, I believe he just connected the wires. Maybe you should contact the seller of the dimmers, sounds like they might be faulty.
