Five years ago today, we eloped in Telluride Colorado.
In the state of Colorado, you don’t need an officiant. So May 19, 2008 we went to the courthouse and paid $10 for a marriage license and then went on a hike near Bridal Veil Falls looking for the perfect spot to make proclamations and have a photo opp.
Even though there was snow on the ground, it was really warm out. We ended up going off trail and finally found a spot with a view of the falls. We said some magic words, signed the papers and then brought them back to the courthouse. We were married.
Today we’re celebrating on Eagle Lake in California.
Dinner Last Night:
Shrimp Jambalaya. The original recipe also contains chicken and kielbasa. I haven’t made it since before Brian and I got together. It’s still good, but I think the other meat really makes it.
