Alaska Ferry

Alaska Ferry

Last Friday night we watched the sunset at John & Judy’s house. In this picture, behind Judy you can see the Alaska Ferry.

The Alaska Ferry runs out of Bellingham and goes to Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka, Juneau, Haines, and Skagway. We haven’t gone on it yet, but really want to some day. They have “Staterooms” to sleep in, though we’ve heard that people also pitch tents on the deck. We could take the Airstream on it but it’s pretty pricey, but then again Alaska is pretty far away, and it could be a cool one way trip, drive back the other way. Sigh.

When I was 18 I took that AK ferry inland route to Juneau. They went on strike when I was scheduled to return, giving me an unexpected week’s adventure in the state capital.

Can’t wait to enjoy a glass of wine with you guys on the deck without the blanket!!! Maybe next weekend it’ll be warmer 🙂
