Dinner with Riveted

Yesterday we towed our home 1 hour from Champoeg State Park to Stub Stewart State Park for the night to meet up with Kevin and Laura from Riveted Blog.

They made us a fantastic dinner of smoked shrimp with harvest grains, kale, asparagus, fava beans and grape tomatoes. The dish was topped with an avocado pesto and olive oil they brought back from Italy. Ridiculously good.

We got into a conversation about how I’m not a big bourban fan, so Laura made each of us “mini” sazerac cocktails to see if I might like rye with the fixings. I love trying new drinks, but ended up giving mine to Brian.

For dessert, I made Salted Date Caramel, Chocolate Mousse Pie with Almond Coconut Crust. It was rich and delicious.

Thank you all for the Curtie well-wishes. He’s doing great, though we’ve yet to see his pearly whites.

We have fond memories of drinking Sazerac cocktails in New Orleans, although as strong as they were I’m not sure I remember all of that evening!

I want to dine with Laura and Kevin and the Aluminarium crew. It looks like I will have to head west for that.
