Last year when Brian and I went to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, I called my parents and told them they had to come the following year.
The two parks are so stunning and abundant with wildlife. It was also evident that September was a good time to beat the crowds and enjoy the change in seasons.
I took a few days off from work this week and we tooled around Jackson and Grand Teton National Park. Yesterday, Mom and Dad headed to Yellowstone on their own and will be returning to have one last meal with us before they fly home.

I do think September is the best time to visit all these places. I enjoy the cooler weather, changing foliage, and lack of crowds. We are , however, surprised at how many people have been in Jasper and Banff. Tons of bus trips from all over the world. We both can’t begin to imagine just how crazy the summer season is.
I’m sure your parents will have a wonderful time in Yellowstone. We are hoping to spend a few days there as we move south. We leave Banff tomorrow. Can’t wait to get back to the US.
We’ll probably just miss you. We’re leaving next Saturday. We should compare itineraries via email. 🙂
Hi Maggie and Rick, Enjoy your trip to Yellowstone. It is so beautiful everywhere!
We loved it, too bad we missed your visit.
