Dog Friendly Hiking in Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree National Park doesn’t allow dogs on hiking trails, but they are allowed to walk on the back roads. We really enjoyed walking Queen Valley Road, where we saw some beautiful Joshua Trees and only an occasional car.

Dinner Last Night:
We’ve had this yummy Christmas Tree Salad a few times before, it made for a perfect Christmas Eve dinner for two.

Happy holidays everyone. xoxoLB&C

That salad looks so attractive! Wish I had the ambition to make some of the recipes you post. We’ve been vegan or close to it for many years but I’m stuck on making the easy, familiar things I know we like, although I’ve been experimenting with new soups lately. Some good, some not so good. Have you tried anything like this? I left out the crumbles and chili sauce and added extra beans and a chipotle chile in adobo sauce, but it was excellent. http://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2012/01/17/vegan-pumpkin-chili/

    Merry Christmas!

Hi Jim! That recipe looks great. I love squash and black beans, though I agree about leaving out the crumbles. Happy holiday!

Any chance you came across a map with paved paths that were dog-friendly? I am having a heck of a time trying to find maps with paved roads…

No, our road wasn’t paved. I think your best bet is asking a ranger when you arrive.
