Jason & Cheryl

This weekend we moved our home to Tucson, AZ where we met up with our old friend Cheryl and her new beau Jason.

Yesterday we hiked the Canyon Loop Trail at Catalina State Park. The cloud cover made the afternoon hike especially comfortable, though it wasn’t good for photos.

I hope you saw the beautiful crested saguaro on that loop!! It is neat because it is an inside arm which is unique. It is about .5 in if you go to the left to start the loop. The cactus is on the left also. It is easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it because it faces the trail sideways. But it is so worth the look. It is only a few feet from the trail.

We totally missed it! I wish we knew to look out for it.

I know I’m repeating myself, but your photos are among the best quality of the blogs we look at, if not follow.

As an aside, we’re getting blasted with rain in our “desert” here in Apple Valley. I think you folks are going to get saturated, as well, if not already. What’s your elevation over there?

Thanks Ed – that’s the iphone 6 again!

According to wikipedia Catalina SP has an average elevation of 3,000 feet.
