Mendocino Botanical Gardens

A guy at the RV park we’re at told us about the nearby botanical gardens.

He told us that it had many walking trails and that we could bring our dog.

He also let us borrow his annual pass!

Dinner Last Night:
Vegan Enchiladas. I really screwed this one up. I didn’t realize I was out of chili powder, so I substituted Penzey’s fajita seasoning. My disclaimer here, is that my close-up vision is really bad these days, so I looked for chili in the ingredients, and even though I didn’t see it I figured I just wouldn’t add the other seasonings and the blend would be enough. What I failed to see was the first ingredient – which any cook knows, is the most predominant. One bite in, told me that this was a big disaster. SALT. It was extremely salty. It was terrible, so we ate our two and then ditched the rest. I won’t be making that mistake again.

What gorgeous flowers!! And to end at the ocean…nice:)

What park are you staying in?

That is too bad about the enchiladas. They are on our all time favorite rotation. Having high blood pressure, salt is one ingredient I work without most of the time. I can really tell when there is extra salt.

Hi Pam! We’re at the Sportsmans RV Park. It’s a quirky little park – I posted some photos of it today.

Hey, we are in Fort Bragg staying at a friends yard and went to the Botanical Gardens today! Depending on how long you’re going to be here maybe we can get together for happy hour? We haven’t been to North Coast Brewery yet. It’s closed Mon and Tues so we were thinking of checking it out Weds.

Ahh Fort Bragg. Check out the company store bar… relatively new owners. It is inside the Company Store and is a nice spot… right next to the Mendocino Cookie Company (coffee!) or go around the corner to Piaci’s Pizza for pizza a microbrews. Lots to see in the area… my old stomping grounds.
