Walnut Canyon National Monument

Sunday we went on a couple easy hikes with Dave & Kelly at Walnut Canyon National Monument.

We went on both the Island Trail and the Rim Trail. The Island Trail is normally a loop but the end of it was closed for repair, so we had to double back.

We were able to go inside some of the ancient cliff dwellings and as you can see, the inhabitants were probably not very tall.

Dinner Last Night:
Hearts of Palm Crab Cakes (which Brian and I love) and a kelp noodle dish that was not very good (so I won’t share the link).

I’ve had kelp noodles before, but didn’t remember them being so noisy, they have quite the loud crunch. Kelly and Dave politely ate everything on their plate while I wasn’t interested in finishing mine.

2015 Cost of Camping:
57 night paid camping
66 nights free camping
123 days this year
Total spent: $771
Daily average cost: $6.27

Good to see you out hiking:)

I am thinking of you as I made Leigh’s sauce for dinner tonight since it is so cool here in Torrey, UT. We had snow on our way over the mountains earlier. Only 53 outside, so it was a good night for pasta:) Yum! Love this sauce!!
