Sportsmans RV Park

A few weeks ago when I called to make a reservation at the Sportsmans RV Park in Fort Bragg, the man on the phone told me a story after he learned my name. He said he used to work in the circus with a couple that had the last name Leigh. They were trapeze artists, and one time, when they were in a new city, an announcer who wasn’t traveling with the circus said in a booming voice over the microphone “Now introducing the incredible Lays!”

The guy on the phone thought I’d appreciate the story having the same name with the same spelling, you know, like neighbor and weigh. I said I get that all the time and should really change my name. Any suggestions?

When we arrived, we were greeted by one of the owners. I asked him if I spoke with him on the phone. He said he didn’t know, he wasn’t good with faces.

Pictured above, two different views of our current spot.

Dinner Last Night:
We had a basic veggie bowl with lentils, quinoa, spinach and avocado with a tahini sauce. This recipe inspired me to cook the lentils and quinoa together which made for an easier cleanup.

Sounds like quite a quirky spot. Is this the place with the quotes on the walls from your IG? Also, how’d you get that arial shot; don’t tell me you guys have a drone now too!

Yes, same place with the quotes! No drone, though I’m sure Brian would like one. The first shot is taken from the bridge in the second photo.

Ah man, I was sure that was a drone shot… Or from the top of your new flagpole.

That flagpole is pretty tall. BTW, you’re racking up some serious comment points!

Yeah, I’ve just been feeling like commenting a lot lately. For no reason. No ulterior motives or anything. Just love the site. And you guys. 🙂

Ha! We stayed at the same park a few weeks ago and were parked in the same spot! We met the owners and they were very friendly. The co- owner, can’t remember her name, was telling us that when we arrived and her hubby saw the A/S, he started teasing her, because she and her ex-husband lived full time in a 27′ A/S. Yes, the park is tiny and quirky, but I was not in love with the view from our dinette table, but at least it was walking distance to dog beach. By the way, I love your name and your header photo is awesome!.

Thanks Gris! Yeah, our dinette curtains are closed. Where are you guys now? Are we following you up to Oregon?

We are back in Vancouver for a couple of months. We are going to Cape D and Twin Harbors State Parks the end of June and then to the WBCC Region 10 rally on the coast of Oregon. We always leave Vancouver by 1 July because we can’t stand the week long fireworks noise. I swear, it sounds like you’re in the middle of a war torn country! Also, we hate to see our Katie terrified for entired week.
