LA Courtesy Parking

We’ve been able to keep up our free camping streak in Los Angeles thanks to our friends Jen & Ron.

A little over a year ago, they bought this beautiful house. Last time when we were in town and saw it for the first time, we couldn’t help but notice their perfect driveway. Perfect for our Airstream.

We arrived on Saturday, and it’s been resort living at it’s finest. There’s a recycling bin right out our door, free wifi, we’re plugged in (and running the coffee maker), there’s a solar heated pool in the back, a high pressure shower inside and really good friends serving up home cooked meals.

The only reason to leave is so we don’t overstay our welcome and can come back again.

2013 Cost of Camping:
16 nights paid camping
97 nights free camping
Total spent on camping this year: $495.75
Daily average cost of camping: $4.39

    Yes, nice “pad.”

BTW, we’ll be @ Dos Picos S.D. County park this weekend just over the hill from your fav Anza Borrego. Might try some of those Julian apples.

Awesome, Jen and Ron. We are in the L.A. area and know how hard it is to find good safe places to park. Very hospitable of you both.
