For the first half of this week we’ve been camping at Acadiana Park Campground in Lafayette, LA. It was a bit crowded when we first arrived, but since they let us pick our site, we were able to tuck ourselves away in the corner.
The park has a great network of trails and wooden walkways. The only problem is, it’s in a swampy forest that is home to a ton of mosquitos, so we had to walk really fast to avoid getting bitten.
2016 Cost of Camping:
23 nights free camping
82 nights paid camping (thru Wednesday 4/13)
105 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $1761
Daily average cost of camping: $16.77

We also stayed at that park, but it was in November and luckily we weren’t bothered by mosquitoes. Downtown Lafayette has free Friday night outdoor concerts in the park and we listened to a great blues guitarist. It was a nice place to spend a few days.
Try Ameo oils for a natural repellent. We are the only safe to ingest oils. So great for cooking. Cheers love the blog
