Sycamore Grove Campground

Saturday night we stayed one night at the Sycamore Grove Campground in the Red Bluff Diversion Dam Recreation area in the Mendocino National Forest. It sounds kind of romantic, but $16 a night (no hookups) it seemed to attract a slightly sketchy crowd. It was just a feeling we got, especially when we asked the camp hosts about parking the Prius and they shouted that they don’t work there anymore because they were fired. It probably also explains the pile of brush next to our campsite. (see back corner of the trailer).

The upside to this campground is a very long, paved, walking path through old and new oak trees. (Curtis is in both pictures)
