We’ve been anticipating the day that Curtie “goes to college” since his cancer in 2011. I always planned to do a series of blog posts as a tribute to him, but didn’t realize how hard it would be day after day. I’m relieved to say this is the last post about our dear old dog, but certainly not the last day we think about him.
We really appreciate all of the messages of condolences. xoxo
I found Curtis at the Glendale, CA pound in March 2000. I never had a dog before and didn’t know what it involved, but at 6 weeks old, he locked in on me with his big brown eyes and made sure that I didn’t leave without him.
Curtie’s full name was Curtis Elian. Curtis, because he just looked like a Curtis, and Elian after the cuban boy Elian Gonzalez who was in the news every night at the time.
The past sixteen years were filled with love and sloppy kisses. We were so lucky to have had him in our life.
We miss you Curtis Elian.
