Robin’s Brownies

My friend Robin gave me this recipe over the phone, I’m guessing in 2002. This is the original chicken scratch I jotted down from that phone call:

2C chocolate chips
2 sticks of butter
4 eggs
1C sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1C flour

Preheat oven to 375. Melt chocolate chips and butter on stove top over low heat. While chocolate mixture cools, combine eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add cooled chocolate mixture. Add vanilla and flour. Beat until smooth. Add nuts if you want. Spray pan with cooking spray. (My jelly roll pan was probably a tiny bit too small for the recipe). Bake for 30-40 minutes.

Since I don’t make this very often, I always stumble on the 2 sticks of butter and wonder if they’re full sticks or if they’re half sticks. Since my careful notes don’t say and Robin was in Italy when I made them this time, I used big sticks and it turned out great. I wonder if the recipe is right though, for some reason I think hers were always better.

No it wasn’t. I ended up cooking mine for 35 minutes.
