I usually don’t usually scout campgrounds with Brian, but since the weather forecast didn’t look so hot for our last week in Kauai, we spent Sunday visiting a couple locations.
On the way to Kokee State Park we drove past Waimea Canyon, also known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.”
All of the islands in Hawai’i are overrun with chickens. Kauai seemed especially bad as we had one wake us up every morning between 3:30 and 4:30am.
We found an easy hiking trail near our AirBnb.
One of our favorite activities was watching the surfers. It’s pretty incredible how they don’t mind getting beat up by the waves and their boards, just to turn around and head out for go at it.
That wraps up our six weeks in Hawai’i. While it was fun having endless running water and electricity, we were happy to get back to our trailer with our stuff – especially the bed and kitchen.
