The past two weeks we’ve had a really fantastic campsite at Cages Bend Recreation Area in Gallatin, TN which is north east of Nashville.
We chose this campground for it’s proximity to Brian’s family. His Aunt Jan, cousin Kelly and her husband Mike live here with their kids Ryan and Ally (who had better things to do last night).
Most of the campsites here have great picnic areas, and the waterfront sites are definitely worth the extra $4. Pictured is site #15.
2016 Cost of Camping:
23 nights free camping
111 nights paid camping (thru 5/14)
134 days this year
Total spent on camping this year: $2989.44
Daily average cost of camping: $22.31

Beautiful park! Looks like they have electric!? I must say your camping expenses look a little different than last year:) Gotta love that about heading east!
Cages Bend has partial hookups sites – water and power.
The worst was when we were in TX where you pay 1 day in advance and the rest when you arrive, while we were paying in full for Michigan 6 months in advance and Florida 11 months in advance!!
We had a great time! Leigh thanks for dinner at that beautiful location. What a treat. See you in Ohio!
You’re welcome! I’m sorry I didn’t have time to really cook!!
We had a great time visiting with you! Looking forward to Christmas!
Us too!! 🙂
Ya’ll were close to my neck of the woods…lol! We live about 10 miles south of Nashville. It’s strawberry time here and I hope maybe you got to have some. Enjoy your Sunday. Sending you a hug because I am missing Curtis and I certainly know you are.
Aww thanks Lin. Yes, we miss the old dog, our sweet love.
